Ed is 43 years old living with his wife and 2 daughters near Bury St Edmunds and is the director of the Grosvenor Physiotherapy clinic, Newmarket.

First graduating from the University of Glasgow in 2001, Ed has since completed post-graduate Masters level courses at Caledonian University, University of Bournemouth and Hertfordshire University. A Chartered Physiotherapist registered with the Health Care Professions Council, he also practices as an Independent Prescriber within the scope of pain relief for MSK disorders, as a CASE accredited Ultra-Sonographer, and as a musculoskeletal Injection Therapist. Additional post-graduate training includes exercise prescription, pilates, manual therapies and manipulation, acupuncture, shock wave treatment, biomechanics and orthotic prescription.

Since graduation, Ed has focussed his career on musculoskeletal and sports injuries. He worked in a large NHS hospital in Plymouth as an orthopaedic and musculoskeletal outpatient Senior Physiotherapist for 5 years. Following this, he worked privately for a National 1 and Championship rugby club, Plymouth Albion. He then moved to a well-respected private clinic in Henley-on-Thames before starting with the Ministry of Defence in 2010. He was the Clinical Specialist leading a team at a Regional Rehabilitation Unit for the Ministry of Defence, providing care for more complex musculoskeletal cases across East Anglia for 6 years. He was employed in this role for advanced assessment and management strategies in which he used his familiarity with diagnostic imaging, injections therapies, pain education/management and rehabilitation programs. In this role he worked alongside physio's, rehab exercise therapists, podiatrists and doctors with special interest in Sports & Exercise Medicine.

Ed treats all forms of musculoskeletal problems in adults but has a special interest in the management of tendon injuries, rehabilitation of the painful shoulder, running related lower limb injuries and the management of persistent spinal pain. He has a particular interest in diagnostic ultrasound which he has been using as part of his assessments for the past 8 years. This includes undertaking additional work at the Centre of Ultrasound Studies in Bournemouth, a centre of clinical excellence in ultrasound education and training; training with consultants in radiology, orthopaedics, sport and exercise medicine to gain his CASE accreditation in this field.

“Having worked with many physiotherapists through my roles as a sports medicine doctor both within Premier League football and also while looking after a number of elite athletes and boxers, I feel that Ed is without doubt a quite outstanding physio.

He has a marked commitment to excellence and first class clinical skills, which in turn reflect a detailed knowledge and superior understanding of musculoskeletal medicine. He has extensive supplementary diagnostic and therapeutic skills, including diagnostic ultrasound, shock wave therapy, injection therapies and appropriate independent prescribing. Ed is particularly good at informing and educating patients in a language which is highly understandable and promotes both patient sign up and treatment compliance.

For anyone wanting an accurate diagnosis and a successful management plan I would highly recommend him”
