Katharine is a Chartered Physiotherapist, specialising in Paediatrics with over 19 years of experience.
Katharine qualified from The University of Southampton in 2003, knowing then she wanted to specialise in Paediatrics. After completing a rotational post in London, she moved to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge in 2005 where she began her Paediatric Career. She worked as a Senior Physiotherapist on the Paediatric wards for many years, covering Paediatric Intensive Care and the Paediatric wards, caring for patients with a variety of complex diagnoses & needs. Katharine specialised for a time in Paediatric Neuro-Oncology, working with an expert multidisciplinary team to help set up & embed the Brainbow Service at Addenbrookes, providing a much needed neuro-rehabilitation service for children with brain tumours in the East of England. In addition to this, Katharine worked as a Specialist Paediatric Orthopaedic Physiotherapist in the outpatient department for many years and became Clinical Lead for the Paediatric Orthopaedic & Musculoskeletal Team in 2014, until her departure at the end of 2020.
During her 15 years at Addenbrookes, Katharine worked with a hugely varied caseload of both in and outpatient paediatric cases. She has advanced skills in Paediatric Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal care as well as Paediatric Neurology and Child Development. Katharine is Ponseti trained & was the Lead Physiotherapist for the Clubfoot Service at Addenbrookes for a number of years. After many years of working in Paediatrics at Addenbrookes, she has kept close links with the Paediatric Consultant Team there, particularly with Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeons, so can offer a seamless link into the Private and NHS Paediatric Orthopaedic Services.
